EFR STANDARD. The Family-Responsible Company (Empresa Familiarmente Responsable) standard establishes policies of quality in employment, working flexibility and professional support to allow conciliation of family and working lives.

ELECTRICAL ENERGY. Form of energy rarely present in nature. It consists of an electric current and arises out of a difference in voltage existing between two points which provokes the passage of electrons.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. Provides the necessary energy for the switching on and correct operation of accessories such as lights and instrumentation.

ELECTRICITY POWER STATION. Centre for producing electrical energy. Depending upon the kind of energy they use, electricity generating power stations can be of various types, the most common being thermal, hydroelectric and wind.

EMEC (EUROPEAN MARINE ENERGY CENTRE). European body responsible for the research and development of marine renewable energies. EMEC works on obtaining and channelling the power generated by waves and sea currents.
