The degree in Journalism, with long tradition at CEU San Pablo (1926 was the year when the first school of journalism in Spain was founded) has the goal of offering the best and the most competitive academic and practical preparation, both in national and international terms, to our future journalists. Only in this way can they face with self-confidence and efficiency the professional challenge that expects them when they get their degree.

Besides, the simultaneous degrees with Humanities Audiovisual Communication, Advertising and Public Relations are also available for our students.

In order to define the profile of incoming students who want to join this degree, we consider the final goals to be reached in three areas:

1. Students. They must have a special interest to understand the world and the society they live in. They must have social political and intellectual concerns. Their attitude must be readiness to do individual and team work. This is why, in our selection, we pay special interest to motivation and the candidate’s skills connected with these issues. It is also important to show ability for oral and written communication in any support as well as for cultural spreading in the media.
2. Future professionals. Students must be real professionals when they finish their degree and have adopted the structural map of the concepts related to the sector. Therefore, the preparation is provided in a systematic way, relating subjects in a global pan of knowledge and not as independent compartments.
3. Degree. With the aim of integrating the student in the professional life, the degree is the result of a comprehensive education. This means that besides systematic and theoretical, it must be practical and compromised where the dialogue with the use of interactive tools for learning. To f this knowledge, the student must be familiar with basic skills like reading, special writing and speaking skills and the vocation for social service.
